Gathering presents is yet another crucial aspect of Snow Rider 3D. Brightly colored present boxes are strewn around the countryside as players slide down the mountain. The player can unlock new sleds and characters by using these gifts as in-game currency. While some presents are positioned in convenient locations, others are perilously near barriers, requiring the player to determine if the payoff is worth the risk. One helpful tactic is to only gather gifts when the player is certain of their time or when the path is obvious. Crashing frequently results from taking unwarranted risks for a single gift, which instantly ends the run.
